Serengeti is a name that resonates around the world, a famous location that has earned many titles, among them One of the Ten Travel Wonders of the World and One of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. It is the site of the largest and most spectacular wildlife migration anywhere. Simply put, it is the ultimate safari destination.

The Serengeti ecosystem spans approximately 30,000 sq.km., mainly in northern Tanzania, but extending into southwestern Kenya. It comprises Serengeti National Park and a number of other protected game reserves and conservation areas maintained by the governments of Tanzania and Kenya.

Nowhere in the world is there a movement of animals as immense as the wildebeest migration, when an estimated two million animals migrate from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the greener pastures of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. It starts as early as June and goes on until October, reaching its peak in July-September.
