Samburu
Airkenya flies daily to Samburu a magical haven of beauty on Kenya's northern frontier home to an astonishing population of wildlife including several species unique to the region like the Reticulated Giraffe Grevy's Zebra Gerenuk and the blue legged Ostrich. The Reserve is also home to lion cheetah buffalo and look out for the shy leopard lying lazily on a tree. You will also see large herds of elephant making their way to the muddy waters of the Ewaso Nyiro River in the morning or on their way up to the hills in the evening.
Samburu offers vistas of rounded‚ rugged hills and undulating plains. The mix of wood and grassland with riverine forest and swamp home to a wide variety of birds. Samburu and its neighbouring Buffalo Springs has recorded over 400 species of birds. Game viewing is excellent all year round. At sunset‚ Doum palms form breathtaking silhouettes against the red and gold streaked sky.
The climate is hot and dry. Activities include: game viewing‚ bird and nature walks.
